Why did I get saved?
So at some point in your life, you will recognize your need for higher power, your need for meaning of the many things that will happen to you. For most of us, we find hope at the foot of the cross. The Jesus story appeals to us and we swear deep down we have arrived. Then, comes the hard part; the walk. almost immediately we can taste our inadequacies in the light of the Standard of Jesus.
Let’s face it. At some point in your life, you need Jesus. I find it amusing how for everyone, the journey to the cross is unique. Whether it was from a really moving message, or your parents forced you to acclimatize to the church traditions, the conclusion is simple; there was the need for Jesus, and in obedience we chose to take this path.
Why did I get saved?
Who helped me get saved?
Now that I’m saved, what next?
These are some of the questions I believe plagued our minds at one point and I hope you had the right answers because they form the foundations of the walk.
Dear millenials who want the fast life (only because we’ve been predisposed to it), the journey with Jesus literally begins when you accept him. But it doesn’t end there. It simply cannot, because there’s a price to pay. There are sacrifices to make, weights to shed. Then, comes the hard part; the walk. almost immediately we can taste our inadequacies in the light of the Standard of Jesus. That’s where the old weights creep in along with doubts. but we have to keep staying saved.
Someone I love deeply once described worship as a big dinner table where all of us gather to sit with God, our Father. And each person has their story, and each person’s voice is heard. No matter your story, you count. Just keep coming back to the table to eat with the Father. There’s a seat for only you to fill.
