PRAYING WITH GOD.
Beloved, we serve A God who not only answers prayer, but teaches us how to pray. We do not pray alone or on our own but God Himself prays through us and with us.
Sometimes, when we rely on our own desires and strength, we tend to think of prayer as a laborious task, involving saying repetitive words or following a specific ritualistic pattern and this can sometimes make us cringe from praying altogether. The good news however, is this is not so! Prayer is not a burdensome task because once you sign up for this walk with God, you are automatically eligible to enroll in the school of prayer taught exclusively by The Holy Spirit!
It is encouraging to know that Jesus spent a lot of His ministry teaching us how we ought to model our lives to please God and one of the topics He extensively taught was prayer. Many times He spoke on the necessity of prayer and the persistent attitude we need to attach to praying.
Prayer is communion with God, during which we get to praise Him, present our petitions before Him, plead forgiveness and call on Him to answer our needs.
When we pray, we express our dependency on God, to be our Source and Lord over our lives.
But knowing what to pray and how or when to pray constantly can be a challenge but God in His Omniscience, has given us a Helper to guide us.
We are not meant to do this on our own that is why we have the Holy Spirit and if we obey and yield to His call to prayer, we are better able to grow in constant fervent prayer which increases our faith.
He teaches us not only how to pray, but helps us align with God’s purpose by teaching us to pray aright.
We are also given the gift of tongue-speaking to help us sustain in long hours of prayer and wield boldness and power!
Beloved, prayer is sweeter when you align with the Holy Spirit. When we obey the promptings of God and develop a habit of constantly calling on God to help us pray, we find ourselves praying more and more, with more conviction. He will teach us how to pray, if only we will avail ourselves to pray.
Next time you find yourself struggling, ask for help. Invite The Holy Spirit in and yield yourself to His leading and beloved, you will learn to pray and pray aright!
As you go through the day, lean into the Might of The Holy Spirit and He will teach you to pray!
Memory verse
Rom 8:26- 27
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”
