Prayer Vault đŸ™đŸŸ

Hi my dear Young Millenial Christian (YMC), the topic of prayer has been on my mind for a while now.

You know how subconsciously, we expect God to work the miracles on His own. I think it doesn’t work like that. Every miracle needs a preceding prayer.

Like someone has to give a spiritual entity permission to cause harm by speaking with faith (with intention or not) to cause things to happen.

So that thorn that’s been in your flesh for like forever?, you have to stop talking to so many people about it and start praying.

In the words of someone famous: “If you have a problem and you have to talk to more than two or three people about it, you are not looking for answers, you’re seeking attention’

So Pray!

Keep praying until something happens

My mind goes to Hannah. Having been afflicted for years. Scorned by her rival and her own desire to birth a child. She was in a genuine need. And like her, we usually think are needs are like things we have to BEG GOD for.

From her story in retrospect, I find that her life (including her need for a child) had already been orchestrated in God’s plan. God’s plan was Jesus from the beginning, and He decided that Samuel had to play a huge part in that story.

Isaiah 55:8-9

‘“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,

Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,

So are My ways higher than your ways,

And My thoughts than your thoughts.”

So Hannah had a genuine need, God had a plan. Here’s how I think it played out. God chose Hannah even before the foundations of the earth. Just like He has chosen you and I for our individual purposes already.

Psalm 139: 15-16

“My frame was not hidden from you

when I was made in the secret place,

when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.

Your eyes saw my unformed body;

all the days ordained for me were written in your book

before one of them came to be.”

Again, God had a plan, Hannah developed a ‘natural’ need. Prior to this, God had to make sure the circumstances surrounding Hannah would push her to prayer. The same way, regardless of the environment you were born in, life, events, people, trouble, the good and bad in your journey so far, has led you to a Need for desiring the works of a Higher power, God.

So God set the stage up for Hannah to PRAY!! #permissionwithfaith.

And in this story (1 Samuel chapters 1&2); the climax was when Hannah uttered the words of willingness to dedicate her child to God. (Lowkey, I think God was waiting for this)

Your story may be different. God’s plan for you may not be the same as hers but one thing is constant, He needs you praying.

So picture this;

Imagine your life is a large field with interspersed pits. And the pits have to be filled to the brim so you can walk on bare land. These pits represent the problems in your life and the more you walk, the more you see the hidden pits you couldn’t see before; you’re almost surrounded everyday.

Now prayer is the fill-up sand and when you pray, you deploy angels to fill it up.

  • Some pits are deeper and will require long term prayers (days, months, or even years)
  • Other pits are shallow and are filled up immediately when you pray.
  • There are some pits that can only be filled by others (intercessory)
  • And there are those pits you start praying only to realize you’re filling other people’s pits (praying for others)
  • There are pits for your family; your parents, siblings and children that only you can fill.
  • There are pits for immediate miracles to enable you cross over to the other side
  • There are pits that are so deep you need to pray a bit everyday
  • There are pits that can only be filled by fasting.
  • There are those that require thanksgiving
  • And those that demand praise and worship, all by the Holy Spirit’s leading

So by all means, don’t stop praying.

The list goes on and on, but as long as you’re praying, some pit is being covered. Some pits are being sealed. Some pits are being levelled.

So don’t stop praying.

I know, sometimes you can pray for hours

Other days, there’s no strength or desire to even say ‘Thank You Jesus’

But do it anyway,

Remember the intention doesn’t really count, only the faith (or else people will not utter words inadvertently and become cursed by them)

So don’t stop praying.

In tongues or In our own tongue, don’t stop praying.

Your life is filled with many pits.

You by all means, have to keep filling your prayer vault.
