At the age of 5,
I got lost in the center of a market.
I remember the thoughts swirling in my little mind
Coinciding with the images of people swirming around me,
Knowing exactly where they were headed.
Knowing exactly what they wanted..
It wasn’t until my palms were wet with tears
Did I feel what it meant to be lost
I wasn’t aching physically.
Just in mental agony..
Ignorant. Unknowing.
Where was I??
How could I get back home?
At the age of 25
I stand lost in a perverse world
Thoughts of uncertainty still swirling in me daily.
Fighting the sure Word of the Most High.
Blood running through my veins cleansing my sins.
I can truly say I am HIS.
But where am I?
How can I get back home?.
Lost:- Unable to find one’s way.
Lost:- Not knowing one’s whereabouts.
So many are lost
desperately looking for a place in this world.
Picture me at 5
In the middle of the market,
looking at every stranger like they were my mother.
Wondering if they could lead me home.
To the home where I feel Secure. Safe. Sound.
That’s how we look when we try out worldly theories
When we follow the trends and place opinions over the Word.
The crowd is not always right
The broadway is not always safe.
Jesus is the only way home
And let me say that again.
Jesus is the only way to get home.
For who you are is hidden intricately in HIM.
And only in HIM will you find the soloution to your tears.
Only in HIM is an antidote for your fears.
He welcomes your doubts with open arms
Because He knows how to build your faith.
You may feel like me at 5
Trapped in your market of perversion
Religion, Drugs, Sex and Alcohol
Vices swirling around you
Purpose battling for space within you.
You may feel that at 19, 20 or 45
Deep tears of regret and failure
Flowing from your heart to your pillows
Lost. Confused.
Desperately grappling with reality to find Relevance.
Validation.
You may feel like me at 5.
Calling for a way to get home.
Then like me,
You need to wipe your tears
Rise up.
And Call with all your might on Jesus.
For your identity. Your purpose. Your home.
Lies in who you are in HIM alone.
In the mirror of the Word.
You’ll find yourself
And when you do,
Keep looking at that image.
It’s who you are.
That image, is YOU in whatever market.
