Becoming Man (by Eden)

70/133

BECOMING Man.

I’ve been aware of a certain mandate
The kind Adam received from God
Which has been passed on to manhood
Be fruitful. Multiply. Fill the earth. Have dominion.
Be a man.
For that’s what it means to be of this kind.
In every regard, this was the way it was meant to be.
There was a measure to determine why every man was created
For He created Man in His image – male and female He made them.
But it seems we have grown to measure manhood in other terms.

Let me show you the true evolution that took place
When God created a perfect man
The devil came with a sweet lie
And when we bit into it
Evolution began
From perfection to deformation
From vision to attrition
From dominion of creation to submission to global warming
Darwin might have been right in his theory of the existence of an evolution
What he didn’t figure out was what is really evolving – sin unto death; man into oblivion

So when Jesus said we must be born again
He knew the exact solution to this avalanche
And now here we find ourselves
Entering the womb of eternity that we may come alive with what originally was.
Purpose.
But what escapes the new believer is that the first man was a fully formed man, mature in every wall to comprehend what needed to be.
When Jesus came as a child,
He was painting to us that part of the consequences of our fallen we didn’t know
It included a change in that original order
Of instant maturity
Of instant awareness
Of pure innocence
How do we know of childbirth until after the Fall?
We needed to be born again so we can regain what we traded for self,
To endure the process of growth until we become mature men
Ready to walk in the mandate
For He could have saved us in a second
Instead He came as a child
And learnt how to become Man
For He learnt how to obey God in the body of earthly passions

Manhood is much more than we allow society to rub in our noses
It is much more than flowing with the trends
It is much more than what many fathers tell their sons
It much more than what girlfriends expect from boyfriends
It much more than what the Church designs for men’s fellowship when they fail to raise Christlike men.

So dear YMC
Becoming a man, is growing into the stature of the fullness of Christ.
It doesn’t matter if you only live 33 years and don’t marry
You would have become a man.
You’d have to endure the phases we are all trading for perfection
You’d have to commit to the example of denying self and embracing God
Whose image is on you.
For manhood is becoming like God.
