Aintchu a tawl glass-a-watah! is what I would say if I could get out my body and look at myself.
I promise it’s not as crazy as it sounds. Try it.
Close your eyes…
Imagine your subconscious mind was on the outside looking at you.
Picture yourself on your best day.. looking your best self. What would you see if you didn’t know anything about the stranger (you) standing in front of you.
Would your perception change about yourself? Staring from the outside at your own frame and mannerisms.
Would you fall in love with your smile…or the way your move your hands when you talk.
Would you be interested to look into your own eyes, if you didn’t know half the tragedy it had seen during your lifetime
I bet I would say to me:
Well, ain’t you a tall glass of water.!
Beautiful enough to quench my thirst
My longing to behold such a sight.
I would say life must be good for such a pretty lady.
And you know what?
I would definitely be right!!
Truth is, we’re all walking towards something. It may be into glory or rags
But as long as the sun is still shining,
Be easy on yourself
You still can rise!
We all have a chance.
we’re all multifaceted stories on a journey of hope to a utopic end
We have tons of memories that decide our mannerisms and quirks
But every now and then, life offers a trigger that shoots us back into our coils and shells.
We all have some form of trauma threatening to hurl forth daily like morning sickness
Sometimes it does..
Seeping in our relationships and how we handle our frustrations
Sometimes we have better academic intelligence than emotional
Other times we’re more artistic than we are rational.
Life is an eclectic journey
Filled with questions its not up to the task to answer.
So I often encourage myself and also beat myself down
I am my best lover and worst critic
Often times I hand over the power of praise to those outside this body
Just so i can hear it and label it as truth.
I’m telling you dear reader,
You are not ordinary nor extraordinary
You’re both.
Good and bad
Water and fire
Blood and bones
Existing within the vessels of one same heart
One body
One spirit
One soul.
Give yourself some credit for having come this far..
No matter how bad your tracks are.
Everything you have experienced is a learning curve.
So come back into your body
And believe with your mind
Whether you’re looking from the outside or inside
From within or without
Damn!
Aintcu a tawl glass-a-watah.
Pure magic
Pure fire.
I know I am…
