Incline your ear
‘I will lift up my eyes to the hills – from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
Isaiah 55:3 ‘Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you’
Beloved, in these times, we must do everything we can to incline our ears to the Lord. When times are tough, when the seasons are hard, we have to put in effort to hear what God has to say. In Romans 15 verse 3, the bible says ‘For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.
Brethren, hope is found in God. And it is when we seek Him, His word for us and His plan for us especially in these hard times, that we will have hope. Like the psalmist said, we will lose heart unless we believe that we will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Beloved, let us wait on the Lord, be of good courage, and He shall strengthen our heart. In this tide of discouragement, we must be deliberate about what we feed on.
Beloved, the times are designed to make you feel weighed down, depressed and filled with many anxieties. The more bad news you ingest, the more hopeless and downcast your soul will get. There are indeed legitimate worries, cares and questions we have but as believers, we must lift up our eyes to God; our help will come from God so we must incline our ears to Him. We must learn to search for scriptures concerning our current circumstances and meditate on the Word of God. We build faith by the Word of God, and as believers, He will remind us to pray to Him, to come to Him, to seek Him, for He is our refuge. He is our help. He is our Provider. He is our hope.
Brethren, despite the turbulent times, let us determine to incline our ear to the Lord. Let us go to God in prayer and lift up our hearts to Him to receive His help. He is the Lord who made heaven and earth. He will come through for you. Incline your ear to Him, look unto Him, hope in Him. He will not disappoint you.
