Good Good Father, thank you.
Beloved, we ought to thank God for how far He has brought us! We have come far and we have to be grateful to God for His goodness and the many blessings & miracles He has bestowed on us. The Lord has been kind to us! He has shown us favour and He has been a good God to us. He deserves our utmost praise.
Brethren, just like the Israelites, we’re often wired to quickly forget the past and focus on the current challenges in front of us. Many of us are unlikely to sit and recall the many wonderful blessings God has given us in the past, we quickly forget the prayers He answered, and the deliverances we received from His hand.
Often times, soon after we receive the answers to our prayers, we move on to the next prayer point because it is easy to see the next set of challenges & needs before us. If like the song ‘Count Your Blessing’, encourages, we are to sit and count the blessings in our lives for the number of years we’ve lived, we would indeed testify that God has been good to us. And maybe like David, we can unashamedly release ourselves to dance before Him in gratitude every chance we get.
It is true that many are challenges each day brings, but we must not forget that through it all God has been good to us. We must rather endeavour to brood on His goodness in the past, reminding ourselves that He is more than able to come through for us over and over again. If He did it before, He will do it again! Let us remember that the Lord has been good to us.
For all the answered prayers, for all the miracles, for all the provision, for the growth and the lessons, for the protection and pardon, we have to be grateful and acknowledge that He is and has been a good good father to us.
Beloved, let us remember the great things God has done for us in the past and give Him thanks we go through the day. By way of our gratitude, we will remind ourselves that the same God who did it before, is more than able to do it over and over again. He is Good God. He has been a good God to us. What a Good, good Father He has been!
Psalm 107:8-9
Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness.
