Carbon copy

You stress me out
my carbon copy love.

The many pages of poetry dedicated to you reflects how much of my heart went into you

Into learning to love you past my instincts

And morphing into your idea of a better me.

You were the push i needed to love myself

Because i followed through with your every instruction

obeyed your every desire

Allow you to change a lot of things about me that ‘were not good for me’

I agreed..

That if someone can love you enough to want you to do better, they deserve to lead.

Which is why when you left me here alone i could no longer recognize me.

There’s no more me, so your lies are what is left for me to feed.

Here’s the truth about love projects

You do not change someone to fit a picture you have in your mind.

You help someone change to fit a dream

Burning in their own hearts.

Closure.
