God of drama
The book of Ruth is interesting. Sounds like a good storyline for a Kumawood movie, especially the inheritance part. Lol .
I never noticed the effort Ruth had to put in to get Boaz. Granted, she obeyed direct instructions from Naomi, but it definitely was not a cinderella fairytale of love.
This woman had been through grief, and had grown accustomed to her mother-in-law. Or was it her faith in God that made her stay? It interests me that though she found favour in the sight of Boaz, she still had to put in some work to get his interest.
Faith without works is dead, but let’s drift away from that point, mine is to show the dramatic setting of the story. Ruth begat Obed who begat Jesse, who begat David and we all know the connection between David and Jesus.
So the genealogy of Jesus is full of drama_ twists and turns leaving the protagonists clueless mostly. It’s not a smooth generational tree even for Jesus in human flesh. So it’s safe to say we cannot avoid the issues of generational plot twists.
In retrospect, her life looked ordered. Because we know she eventually carried a seed that belonged to the lineage of Jesus. But did she know in the moment??
Did she sense her purpose was great??
Did she know her marriage to Boaz was destined, despite the circumstances surrounding it?
Did she know?? And Do you know??
How your dramatic story now is being recorded to affect someone else’s life in future???
Do you know why you’re still breathing??
I’m sure you don’t .. most of us, as an answer to our purpose in life, begin to list our problems and journeys…hoping maybe, someone can read in between the lines and decipher why we’ve been through those journeys; and why we’re still here.
My point is, you almost never get someone telling you the exact purpose of your own journey so far. The dramatic plot twists and turns I’m sure make no sense to you. But it does to God, once you surrender to Him.
All we need to do, is to lean in everyday. To sign in to His will and allow the script to be played out the way He desires.
Maybe, one day, in the scrolls of heaven and earth… someone will read ‘The book of You’ where the conclusion will justify the journey. Giving God, the utmost glory.
So hang in there dear YMC (young millenial Christian). You are not alone, wondering the meaning of your life. We all are. But we trust and keep the hope alive. The hope of beholding Him face to face one day.
But until then, His script, His will, His way… we just give our consent. Every. Single. Day.
However we can…
